The Stevens kitchen had a solid foundation, but the warm wood cabinetry made the space feel darker and more dated than the homeowners wanted. Rather than replacing cabinets that were still in good condition, the existing cabinetry was professionally refinished to create a brighter, cleaner, more updated look.

The perimeter cabinets were transformed with a crisp white finish, while the island was refinished in a contrasting deep gray, adding depth and giving the kitchen a strong focal point. The two-tone palette works beautifully with the existing light countertops, stainless-steel appliances, brushed metal hardware, and warm wood-look flooring.

Careful preparation and refinishing allowed the original cabinet doors, drawer fronts, and architectural details to be retained while dramatically changing the overall feel of the room. The finished kitchen feels lighter, more current, and more cohesive—without the cost or disruption of a full cabinet replacement.
